How to Delete Your Perplexity Account

Deleting your Perplexity account takes a minute, but doing it in the wrong order can leave you still being charged or losing work you meant to keep. Here’s a pre-deletion checklist, the official steps, what happens to your data, and gentler alternatives if you only want more privacy.

Cancel first, save what you need, then Settings › Account › Delete Account

Perplexity’s own instructions: go to Settings, then the Account tab, and click Delete Account. Your personal information is removed from Perplexity’s servers within 30 days. You can also request deletion by emailing support@perplexity.ai. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel app-store subscriptions, so cancel those first.

How to delete your Perplexity account

Perplexity’s instructions: Settings › Account › Delete Account. The web is the most reliable place to do it.

  1. Sign in on the webGo to perplexity.ai and sign in with the account you want to delete.
  2. Open SettingsClick your profile or the settings icon to open Settings.
  3. Go to the Account tabFind the Account section of Settings.
  4. Click Delete AccountChoose Delete Account and read the warning carefully.
  5. ConfirmConfirm the deletion. You’ll be signed out.
  6. Uninstall the appsRemove Perplexity (and Comet, if you don’t want it) from your devices.

We can’t delete accounts. Only sign in at perplexity.ai, and never share your password or sign-in code with anyone offering to “delete it for you”.

How do I delete my Perplexity account?
Perplexity says: go to Settings, then the Account tab, and click Delete Account. Cancel any subscription first, especially if you subscribed through Apple, Google Play or Samsung, because deleting your account doesn’t cancel app-store billing.
