How to install Comet, step by step
Go to the official page
Open perplexity.ai/comet in your current browser and click Download Comet.
- Needs Windows 10 or later.
Run the installer
Open the downloaded file from your Downloads folder. If Windows asks for permission, check the publisher is Perplexity before clicking Yes.
- Don’t run Comet installers from other websites.
Finish setup
Comet opens when it’s installed. Sign in to Perplexity and import bookmarks if you’re offered the option.
- Pin Comet to the taskbar for quick access.
Go to the official page
Open perplexity.ai/comet and click Download Comet.
- Needs macOS Big Sur or later.
Install
Open the downloaded file and drag Comet into your Applications folder.
- If macOS warns the app is from the internet, confirm it came from perplexity.ai, then click Open.
Finish setup
Open Comet from Applications or Spotlight, sign in to Perplexity and import bookmarks if offered.
- Keep Comet in the Dock: right-click its icon › Options › Keep in Dock.
