Install
On your Android phone or tablet, open the Play Store app. You can also open the official listing directly from this page.
Search for “Perplexity” and open Perplexity - Ask Anything. Check the developer shows PerplexityAI and it has 100M+ downloads.
The app is free. Wait for the download to finish, then tap Open.
You can ask questions straight away. Sign in with Google, Apple or email to save your history and use your plan across devices.
Perplexity may ask for microphone, notification or location access. Allow the ones for features you’ll use; you can change them later.
Skip the APK. Install only from Google Play. APK files from download sites aren’t verified, don’t update automatically and are a common way to spread malware disguised as popular apps.
Assistant
Make Perplexity open with your phone’s assistant gesture, so you can ask questions or get tasks done from any screen. This is optional and you can switch back at any time.
Most phones put this under Settings › Apps › Default apps. If you can’t find it, open Settings and search for “assistant” or “default apps”. Some brands use their own assistant gesture; check your phone’s gesture or button settings.
Menu names vary by phone model and Android version. To switch back, repeat the steps and choose your previous assistant.
